COMMUNICATIONS ASSISTANT

Tengah Island Conservation (TIC) is pleased to announce a job opening for a Communications Assistant.

This paid position is open to Malaysian citizens and permanent residents only.

Are you a creative storyteller with a knack for design? We’re looking for a dynamic communicator who can craft compelling content, design eye-catching visuals in Canva, and manage our website on Squarespace. If you're passionate about digital media and making a real impact in conservation, this role is for you! 

The Communications Assistant will be based in Mersing, though the position may entail frequent travel to all our various project sites and other Johor Islands. The candidate should be willing to work on a small island for one year (with the possibility of an extension). This position is to start in March 2025 and will report to the Executive Director.

Responsibilities:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Degree in Mass Communications, Environmental Science, or related field.

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in handling and managing contents for social media platforms.

  • Experience with Squarespace (or willingness to learn) for website updates.

  • Proficiency in Canva (or other design tools) for creating digital content.

  • Basic photography and video editing skills (preferred but not mandatory).

Board and Lodging will be included.
